Wir waren zwei wunderbare Wochen in dieser grünen Oase.

Es gibt nicht das Geringste zu beanstanden. Wenn man es zulässt, ist man völlig raus aus dem Alltag. Die Ruhe, der Müßiggang, die Massagen, die großartige Crew… Das alles trägt dazu bei, die innere Ruhe wiederzufinden. Das Essen ist grandios, die Bungalows geschmackvoll eingerichtet und bieten genügend Privatsphäre. Alles ist sehr gepflegt und den Service (Rezeption, Reinigungsmitarbeiter*innen, Fahrdienst, uvm.) des Hotelbetriebes möchten wir besonders hervorheben. Wir können nicht sagen, ob wir wiederkommen werden, aber wir können sagen, dass uns die Zeit im Mangosteen immer in bester und eindrucksvoller Erinnerung bleiben wird.

Great resort in lovely grounds

We had two weeks at the Mangosteen and enjoyed every minute there.

Our villa was excellent, so much space with traditional Thai furniture, the bed was certainly the largest we have ever had on suite bathroom with an outside jacuzzi style bath and a separate shower. The pool is superb along with the restaurant for breakfast, also we used the restaurant on several occasions and the food was first class. The staff are brilliant, always have a smile and extremely helpful, our hosts, the owners, were also on hand and very helpful.

The hotel runs a complementary service to the beach and return on the hour which takes about 10 to 15 minutes, we always walked back which is about an hour walk.

Wellness Retreat

I had a lovely time. The owners were fantastic, they took us for a walk and were always about to check everything was okay. All of the staff were amazing and extremely helpful.

The food was amazing! The treatments were great, I also had some Ayurvedic treatments which really did help my lower back. The yoga was lovely, and the yoga teachers were great.

A Gem! 💎

“This is a gem 💎 of a place. So many details are so well thought through. My wife and I signed up for one of the 3-day wellness programs, which included vegan meals, twice daily yoga, and once daily spa treatments. The resort is beautiful, and the staff is so friendly. The rooms are big and ours had a jacuzzi tub out on the balcony with a nice view of the ocean.

The vegetarian meals were really outstanding. Breakfast was blow-your-mind amazing with a not-huge-but-beautiful buffet in addition to menu choices that were all delicious (many Thai options and also some western breakfast options). The chefs at this place use super-fresh ingredients and really know their stuff. The staff knew our room number after the first meal, and we never had to tell them again. We also had awesome fresh fruit in the room every day, including passion fruit that are to die for. The beds were large and beautiful and just the right firmness, which my back much appreciated. Ample awesome pillows. AC worked great.

We experienced 5 yoga sessions during our stay. The best one by far was the beach yoga led by Ann (who is Thai). The scenery at the beach was amazing and Ann was an excellent instructor. The other sessions were at the resort in a gorgeous room with a view of the jungle and ocean beyond. The classes varied a lot, from more Tai-chi-like to more stretching to more traditional vinyasa. All classes were in English, and some of the instructors went very fast, especially tough for the non-native English speakers in the class, but even a little too fast for us. But overall, the yoga was so fun, beautiful, and relaxing.

Our spa treatments were mostly really good, though I had a pretty mediocre massage for one session (a new-ish therapist?), and in another session there was a mixup and I didn’t get the treatment I had signed up for. But they gave me an extra session to make up for it, so all is good. My wife had one excellent massage, one above-average massage, and one awesome hot wrap treatment.

The founder/owners were at the property and introduced themselves and really made it clear that they care a lot that we have an excellent stay. It is clear that they love their creation, and we thank them for making this lovely place a reality!”

Re-set from the madness of your life at Mangosteen Ayurveda & Wellness Resort

“Mangosteen Ayurveda & Wellness resort is fabulous! If you are looking to reset your life, get off the medical merry-go-round and get your health back in balance, then this is the place for you! Regrettably, I only had 10 days here and could have done with more….
I left feeling very balanced, relaxed and nurtured by everyone.

Hajo and Rose (who are owner operators) and their staff have gotten something special to share with the world. They want to take care of us and give us a memorable experience. Dr Nazeem (Ayurvedic doctor) and Sagar run a very good treatment clinic for all attending the resort who are undertaking the Ayurvedic programs.

The food is fresh, healthy and very satisfying (Dosha neutral) leaving one with no cravings for sugar or alcohol! The good thing is that you don’t have to give up alcohol or sugar, but what you put in is what you get out!

With two yoga classes a day, meditation and Singing Bowls, there is something for everyone and for all abilities.

As I said, I left feeling very pampered, stretched and all my knots kneaded out. I left the resort on the first day and realized that I needed to stay in the resort to re-set, away from the busyness of Phuket life! I absolutely loved my time here and will make sure that I make it for two weeks next time!

A little bit of paradise!

Perfect ❤️ Honeymoon!

Perfect start to our honeymoon with a week at The Mangosteen. Our room was super spacious with our own spa on our private terrace overlooking neighboring islands that every morning we woke up to watch the sun rise over.

Cookie the guest experience manager meets you on arrival and ensures you start your trip the right way. We were 4 hours early for check in and after long flight and very tired Cookie arranged for us to be able to start our relaxing straight away with pool towels and a bite to eat and helped us start to plan our week.

The reception team were really helpful in organizing our excursions, including private taxi tours of Phuket, elephant trekking and bathing (our favorite) and even ring side tickets to Muay Thai on the weekend.

Restaurant team were fantastic and really hard working, the menus is a good mix of Thai and European dishes, something for everyone but always tasting and consistently good.

We spent a lot of time at the spa too, speeding up our relaxation. Extremely professional and amazing massages and treatments, we had a treatment or massage almost every day.

But the most memorable part of staying at the Mangosteen is the authentic and caring staff that work there. It’s an intimate resort and the team are engaging, genuine, friendly and couldn’t do enough.

Definitely value for money.

We will be back for anniversaries for sure!

Wonderful Relaxing Resort

I booked the resort through Interval International and the whole booking process was simple and straight forward. We arrived after 9 pm and check in was a breeze. Our villa room was big and clean and well laid out we knew immediately that our stay would be a good one.

The resort is beautifully designed and very well maintained with staff that truly go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Notable mentions are Tip, Moo, Kwan, Jessie and Kat.

I was impressed with Cookie’s ability to remember names even though we did not interact with him much. He was always extremely friendly and good humored.

My wife and I spent many hours in or relaxing by the fantastic pool and enjoying the wonderful mixed scenery of the mountains and the ocean.

Day trips were easily organized with reception and walking to the local shops and cafes was a real adventure.

We enjoyed the two theme nights on Monday and Thursday and must compliment the variety and quality of food that was provided.

We highly recommend the Mangosteen Resort and would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous, Absolutely Gorgeous!

We loved Mangosteen! A HOLIDAY DESTINATION THAT MET ALL THE “I WANTS” –  SENSATIONAL!”

The best place to stay for a fabulous holiday! I have read some of the negative reviews on this place all be it not many at all! But these people who wrote such things must have rocks in their heads or just extremely hard to please! They would be wingers wherever they stayed. For my hubby Neil and I this place met our needs and much more! All the staff across all the many areas that run the place are extremely friendly, warm, welcoming and make you feel so very special! The porters, the reception staff, the house maidens, the maintenance staff, the waiters and waitresses, the pool staff, the gate keepers, all the staff who work so hard behind the scenes. Ian and Cookie are so welcoming, friendly and warm! The resort is kept immaculately! The rooms are cleaned every day!

The food in the restaurant is of excellent quality and tastes delicious! Thanks Chefs!

We stayed for 7 nights in February on the buy invite voucher, this place honestly blew us away from the moment we arrived, to the moment we left it was all service service service! The resort itself is very clean, well maintained and continuing to upgrade. The rooms regardless of level are spacious, clean, private, and comfortable! The swimming pool is one of the best I’ve ever been in, massive and goes right through the first upper level of the resort. Very close to Rawai beach / restaurants etc. plenty of sightseeing options if you’re looking for it and all is booked through the resort for me. My wife loved the spa and spent more time there than with me (lol).

The owner is also very hands-on, friendly, welcoming, approachable, and more often than not he will be by the pool most afternoons having a beer and chat with the guests.

This is definitely our new home in Phuket, and I suggest all those that haven’t tried it, do so! Very relaxing and pleasurable stay!

We love kids but to be a “kid free” resort just made it so peaceful and quiet!

Loved ❤️ Mangosteen

We were picked up from Phuket Airport in steamy April and transferred to the Mangosteen Resort in an air-conditioned car. This looked good as it was so hot. We were pleasantly greeted by Luke who showed us around and to our room. It was great but we decided to upgrade to a larger Suite which had a magnificent view of the bay and ocean… we even had our own spa room! Room service is prompt if you desire a snack or a full meal indoors. The main reception staff Kat and Nate were so helpful and friendly, nothing was a problem.

The salt pool is fabulous with interesting flowing sections, and I would recommend a cocktail by the pool while the sun is setting. This is a nice resort with spa facilities and a great air-conditioned gym. We found the location very peaceful and being up off the flat beach area, you experience gentle evening breezes and see the lights across the bay and ocean…. fabulous. A casual but classy restaurant which was professionally managed and staffed, so that you didn’t have to wait for service. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We met the owner, his wife Rose, and their daughter Ying (the Resort Manager) who arranged for us to have a three course Thai cooking lesson at the resort, which we ate after with a glass of chilled wine. Thanks to Rod (Food and Beverage Manager) and the top Thai Chef for our fun filled and memorable cooking lesson.

All the staff are intelligent well-trained people who are there to make your stay relaxing and memorable. Obviously, we had a lousy time lol. We can thoroughly recommend this resort. 🙏 Thank you.

What a fantastic resort!

What a fantastic resort!

I had read a few reviews on TripAdvisor before our trip, and I found the complaints about dated rooms and remote location to be very inaccurate. Our room was absolutely amazing, so spacious and we LOVED the outdoor shower!

Even though the TV was an old one, we didn’t find that to be a problem as who goes to Phuket to sit and watch TV? The staff were so friendly and always helpful, even when we had the presentation, we never felt pressured or received any unfriendliness when we didn’t take up the offer. Our complimentary dinner and spa voucher were so welcome and just added to the wonderful experience that is mangosteen. The resort hires out scooters, which we found to be a much cheaper way to see the island than using taxis, and the bikes were in excellent condition. The food was exceptionally good, even if it was a little pricey. If you’re looking for a relaxing resort away from the touristy areas and hustle and bustle of areas like Karon and Patong, the Mangosteen is definitely the place to be.

Beautiful views, STUNNING pool, great rooms, awesome staff – everything we needed to make our stay in phuket a truly unforgettable holiday. 🙏 THANK YOU MANGOSTEEN!!!

Sensational 😀

If a single word to describe our experience was required, then “Sensational” would be appropriate.

Arriving on one of the online vouchers from Australia, we were met in the foyer with a cool drink and a very brief orientation talk before being escorted to our villa for a quick demonstration of the room/ resort features. The rooms were excellent and, although we had read previous trip advisor reports suggesting they were a little tired, we found the large, airy room to be clean, fully furnished and very well serviced.

The onsite restaurant also gets 5 stars from us; in particular, the executive chef Daniel managed to provide the best salmon we’ve ever tasted, on two separate occasions. It is useful to note that each meal is prepared separately with individual sauces cooked for each dish rather than the usual time-saving method of pre-preparing some components. Both themed food evenings were also a delight with the Japanese component of the “Five Gems of Asia” night, particularly noteworthy. We had our first ever “Spa” experience and found this to be the best takeaway memory of our entire trip with the ladies actually having to wake us up when the massage was complete. It’s a shame we didn’t take full advantage of the available packages right from the start because, even without the complimentary voucher provided with our booking, they appear to be excellent value. Staff are friendly and helpful with advice on tours, trips and local restaurants. Service is top shelf from the very friendly room cleaning team to the bar and restaurant staff. It’s likely a case of “Just doing our jobs” but it’s the smile that goes along with the service that stands out with this team. Well done!

Can’t wait to return and do it all again soon.

Die Anlage befindet sich auf einem Hügel. Es ist sehr ruhig und von den Terrassen vor den Bungalows hat man eine schöne Sicht, entweder in den schönen Garten oder aufs Meer. In der näheren Umgebung sind an der Straße viele klein Geschäfte.

ZIMMER – 6.0

Große gemütliche Betten mit großartigen Matratzen. Es gibt eine kleine Couch mit Tisch, in großen Zimmern auch Sesseln. Dort steht auch einen Fernseher, den wir aber nie benutzt haben. Der gut gefüllte Kühlschrank wird regelmäßig aufgefüllt ebenso wie das frische Obst. Das innenliegende Badezimmer hat einen Durchgang zur Außendusche und diese ist einfach nur herrlich.

SERVICE – 6.0

Kompetent, freundlich, zuvorkommend und immer hilfsbereit.

GASTRONOMIE – 6.0

Das Restaurant ist so schön, gerade wenn abends überall die Lichter angehen, dass ich ständig fotografieren will, um diese Atmosphäre einzufangen und mit nach Hause zu nehmen. An manchen Tagen wird Livemusik gespielt, die den ganzen Abend noch angenehm abrundet. Alles, was wir dort gegessen haben, ob am Buffet oder von der Karte war superlecker und auch sehr liebevoll angerichtet. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam, ohne aufdringlich zu wirken.

SPORT & UNTERHALTUNG – 6.0

In der Lobby gibt es einige Angebote für Tagestouren. Wir haben an einem Trip zur James Bond Insel teilgenommen und waren trotz anfänglicher Skepsis sehr begeistert. Natürlich ist es touristisch, aber wir sind ja schließlich alle Touristen. Absolut sehenswert. Die Ortsansässige Tauchschule bietet regelmäßig Schnuppertauchen an.

HOTEL – 6.0

Immer wieder!!! Wir waren im April 2018 zum fünften Mal im Mangosteen und haben uns wie immer super wohl gefühlt. Es gibt wenige Plätze, an denen wir so gut entspannen und runterkommen können. Unser erster Besuch war 2010 und seit dieser Zeit staunen wir immer wieder, wieviel ständig erneuert und verbessert wurde, um die ohnehin schon schöne Anlage zu erweitern und aufzuwerten. Die Bungalows sind in gehobenen, thailändischen Stil eingerichtet und strahlen eine sehr gemütliche Atmosphäre aus. In den riesen Bett schlafen wir wie im siebten Himmel. Das Bad mit seiner Außendusche ist ein echtes Erlebnis. Auch das Jacuzzi macht Spaß, aber ich bin meist im Pool weil dieser viel gigantischer ist. In der ausgedehnten Poollandschaft mit wunderschönem Blick und Poolbar lässt es sich herrlich entspannen, schwimmen oder Kontakte zu anderen Gästen knüpfen, wenn man das mag. Außerdem kann man dort auch noch spät abends schwimmen, wenn man sich zivil verhält. Ab 15 Uhr ist die Happy Hour. Bis zum wunderschönen Sonnenuntergang lassen wir hier oft den Nachmittag ausklingen. Bei tagsüber geöffneter Küche serviert das stets freundliche Personal Speisen auch an den Pool. Nicht immer, aber sehr gerne essen wir im Mangosteen Restaurant, besonders an den Buffetabenden. Was uns besonders gefällt ist, dass beim Einkauf auf regionale Bio-Produkte geachtet wird. Geschmack, Zubereitung und Qualität rechtfertigen auch die westlichen Preise. Bei unserem letzten Besuch haben wir an einem Kochkurs teilgenommen. Nicht nur die Auswahl und Ergebnisse der Gerichte waren super, sondern neben dem Spaßfaktor hatten wir auch einen lehrreichen Einblick in die traditionelle Thaiküche. Mein Besuch im Spa war sehr entspannend, in schöner Atmosphäre und absolut sauberen Räumlichkeiten. Das Personal ist gut ausgebildet und sehr zuvorkommend. Um unabhängig zu sein mieten wir uns für die Zeit unseres Aufenthaltes einen Motorroller. Die Flüge für April 2019 sind bereits gebucht, und wir können es kaum erwarten die neuen Angebote wie Ayurveda und Yoga auszuprobieren.
